A group of students from Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy of the Republic of Moldova participated in the Francophone Training and Employability Forum (Forum des Formations et de l'Employabilité francophones). The event represents a platform, in which our university participates annually, which demonstrates the commitment to promoting francophone education and emphasizes interactive and useful activities for the young participants.
A highlight was the practical workshop, held by second-year students from the Francophone University Department of Medicine, entitled "Evaluation of the nutritional status of young people". The future doctors examined the participants, performed essential anthropometric measurements to determine body mass index, water and body fat percentage, height, muscle and bone mass, fat folds, wrist circumference, triceps circumference, abdominal circumference and thoracic perimeter. They analyzed the volunteers' health and diet and gave them personalized recommendations for a balanced diet, promoting a healthy and responsible lifestyle among young people. The students were guided by Associate Processor Elena Ciobanu from the Hygiene Discipline, Preventive Medicine Department.
Veronica Ichim, deputy head of the Department of External Relations and European Integration (DEREI), responsible for the Francophone Branch within the University, noted that the workshop received positive feedback from students, strengthening the desire of many of them to become part of Nicolae Testemitanu University community after graduating from high school. "The participation of our university in this forum emphasizes not only the quality of the francophone programs offered, but also the dedication of the teaching staff to the healthy and balanced training of future generations," added the DEREI representative.
The event brought together students from bilingual high schools of the capital and young people interested in higher studies in French, offering them the opportunity to explore the francophone educational programs of AUF member universities in the Republic of Moldova.
The forum, now at its third edition, was organized on October 24 and 25 by the Office of the Francophone University Agency in the Republic of Moldova.
